College Football and American pop culture basically go hand and hand. Millions of people tune in to the sport every Saturday to watch their favorite team play their hearts out in front of packed stadiums all across the country, with crowds roaring in the stands. Banners, animals, colors, smoke, fireworks, carriages, you name it. You celebrate every win and feel every loss as if you’re part of the team. Most people, however, are not. The life of a college football outside of the football field is one shrouded in obscurity. Perhaps the NCAA goes out of its way to ensure that is the case.
Alright! This is the first football-related video I’ve uploaded that wasn’t a highlight reel, and it’s only the second “documentary” I’ve made on this channel. Originally this wasn’t even for YouTube; it was for my English class, where we had to create an ethnographic project where we look into a subculture. For me, it was high school and college football players. I was tempted to just be lazy and make a shitty PowerPoint, but I decided to make a video, and it wound up being a full on mini-documentary. I liked it, so now it’s on YouTube, haha.
