Today
Most places have started Friday on a dry note with the best of the sunshine across England and Wales while Scotland and Northern Ireland have more in the way of cloud. There’s a few light showers across south Wales and south west England with some heavier showers across north east Scotland. Temperatures are quite warm especially in the south and east.
Through the rest of the day we’ll see scattered showers breaking out with a risk of some thundery downpours in the south and east especially. Further north and west there will be a lot of dry weather but some scattered showers are likely in places. Late this afternoon and into this evening more general rain will arrive across south west England. Temperatures will range from 15C to 24C.
Tonight: Many places become dry for a time but showery rain in the south west will become heavier and more persistent across southern England and south Wales but heavy showers break out across central and northern regions. Temperatures will be quite warm with some towns and cities across southern and eastern England holding up at around 17C.
Tomorrow (Saturday)
Showery outbreaks of rain will clear from the south and south east of England during the morning and then many southern counties will become dry with sunny spells. Meanwhile heavy and thundery showers are likely to continue through Wales, the Midlands, northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Temperatures 16C to 23C.
Outlook:
Sunday – After a dry and sunny start showers break out across Scotland and eastern England, meanwhile longer spells of heavy and thundery rain push northwards across central and southern England and Wales.
Monday – Heavy showers and thunderstorms will break out widely across many parts of the country but there will be some dry and sunny weather between the downpours.
Tuesday: Most northern and western regions will be dry with sunny spells but central and eastern regions are likely to have more cloud and showers. Warmest in the west but cool in the east.
