Student-athletes, coaches and eager parents are all gearing up for the fall football season, but we’re learning a referee shortage could affect scheduling.

Josh Rollins, the chairman of the Missoula football referee pool, says a referee shortage in western Montana could mean high school football won’t be exclusive to Fridays.

“Parents and players are just going to need to get used to the fact that not all games are going to be on Friday nights anymore. In order to get them covered we are going to have Thursday night and Saturday games as well,” Rollins said.
