Traditionally one of the most successful teams in NCAA Division 1, recently Nebraska have faced a pretty long spell without lifting any major trophies. Through 2019, Nebraska ranked seventh in all-time victories among FBS teams. In their history they have won 46 conference championships and five national championships, tied for the sixth most of any school. Since they’ve moved to the Big 10 in 2011 they have failed to win a single conference championship, they have failed to win it in any conference in the 21st century. Their last conference championship was back in 1999 in the Big 12. Their last national championship was two years prior to that when they defeated Tennessee in the Orange Bowl 42-17 in 1997. Even their 1997 title was contested though as they shared that distinction with Michigan who were declared champions by the AP with the Coaches giving it to Nebraska. They won it outright two years earlier when they defeated Florida 62-24. We’re looking to bring them back to relevance, first by getting themselves back in the Big 10 Championship game. They have appeared in one such of these back in 2012 but we are looking to do one better and win it. That’s only the beginning though, our ultimate goal is obviously to get back to winning national championships and re-igniting the Nebraska dynasty that has been so long dormant.
