One last time! It’s your Penn State practice highlights from Blue White Illustrated. While Penn State Football’s search for an offensive coordinator is just starting, the team needs to solider on in the meantime. There’s one more game left in the 2023 season. While the goal this year has been to get the team back on track after the debacle against Michigan, it’s been a difficult challenge.

Starting quarterback Drew Allar was getting into a rhythm against Rutgers with his new playcallers when he went down early in the third quarter with an injury and didn’t return. His status for this weekend has been up in the air since the injury, though head coach James Franklin has been optimistic about his return.
The question is, does it matter what the offense looks like to show progress and growth in the final game? Or is winning the only thing that matters? The team found a spark on the ground with backup quarterback Beau Pribula last week but we still haven’t seen him throw the ball extensively in any game this season. If Allar isn’t ready to go, Pribula will finally get his chance to operate the full offense for the first time this year.
Either way, Franklin has been adamant about playing both quarterbacks this year and letting Pribula take some of the running heat off of Allar.
The team’s depth receivers have made a comeback at the end of the year as well. Liam Clifford and Kaden Saunders have both made catches over the last month or so to flash potential for next year.
