Ohio State only played 8 games in 2020 but Sermon was absolutely a difference make in his one season in Columbus – especially down the stretch of the season, most notably with a school-record 331 yards rushing in a 22-10 victory over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game. Sermon was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft by the 49ers and there have been mixed reviews on the pick. Sermon fell to the 3rd round due to his speed concerns but in Shanahan’s offense which is based off of a zone running scheme Sermon could flourish. Pair that with his ability to be a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield as well as his ability to pick up yards after first contact the 49ers may have drafted the steal of the NFL Draft.
