FSU’s leadership perceives the ACC’s demise as unavoidable. The conference lags significantly behind the Big Ten and SEC in revenue and faces the prospect of falling to fourth place behind the expanding Big XII. Last year, the so-called “Magnificent 7” schools, including Miami, FSU, Clemson, UNC, NC State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, negotiated uneven revenue distribution in the ACC based on viewership. However, this was merely a temporary solution. Notably, the Big XII’s uneven revenue distribution did not deter Texas and Oklahoma from joining the SEC.
