This feature is disabled by default, but if we go into the Settings app
Scroll down and select System
Then choose the Buttons option
You’ll notice there’s a feature labeled Edge Long Swipe Action
This can be set to shortcuts like launching the search assistant, opening up the voice search app, launching the camera, or even force closing the app in the foreground.
Once we select one of these features, we can activate the gesture by swiping in from the left or right side of the screen.
The trick here is that we want to make it a long swipe so watch the icon here as it switches from a single arrow to the double arrow
When you see the two arrows on the screen, we can let go and it will perform whatever action we have it set to that gesture in the Settings application
