Lincoln Riley to USC, impact on Texas Longhorns football and UT/OU to SEC: Overreaction Monday Pt. 2

How does Lincoln Riley leaving OU impact Texas going forward?

There are some recruits that are deciding between Texas and Oklahoma, will Lincoln Riley’s move to USC open up some of the Texas and OU recruits to zero in on Texas Longhorns?

Geoff Ketchum, publisher of Orangebloods.com along with Anwar Richardson
Devon Campbell, 5-star OL, from Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas. Campbell had been interested in both USC and Oklahoma, along with Texas. Ketch says if Devon Campbell was interested in USC before the move by Lincoln Riley, when USC was widely considered a disaster, surely there’s greater interest now in USC for Campbell.

A few other names to know Allen High school offensive lineman, Neto Umeozulu, a 4-star who has always been interested in USC. He’s 6’4” 285 lbs. and he’s got Alabama, Texas and USC on his list. Ketch also mentioned Devin Brown, who Texas has been working on, a national top 50 prospect. He’s been committed to USC, but decommitted last week. Would Lincoln Riley get him to flip back to USC? Lincoln has had a ton of success in recruiting the QB position. There’s also spectulation that Kobie McKinzie, an ILB from Lubbock, Cooper High School. “He’s a big time inside linebacker prospect that I think can start for Texas as a freshman based on the state of the current Texas roster.”

Both Ketch and Anwar agree, Steve Sarkisian needs a quick fix in some areas, so they might need to pass on some developmental players in order to bring in the top recruits that they possibly can that can make an immediate impact.
