The Poet saint Thiru Valluvar bestowed upon us, his eternally, globally relevant work ‘The Thirukkural’ centuries ago. The 1330 couplets that make up the Kural are divided into 3 cantos. Together these address every facet of existence for a holistically happy, kind, good and meaningful life. Revered and celebrated, Thiru Valluvar and the Kural are an integral part of Thamizh and Thamizhar life. The beauty of his prescience and what definitely feels like omniscience, is that world over thinkers and creators across time and space have echoed the essence of one or many of his couplets.
Kural Mudhal is Mamathi Chari’s initiative to bring the Kural back to those who need a reminder or a current explanation of its meaning; while also presenting one or many global echoes of the couplet discussed in each episode. These resonances vary from proverbs to poetry, from adages to prose, from philosophies to plays. The series is bilingual and without a second thought you can rest assured that if you know either Tamil or English alone, you will still absorb the essence of the content. She plans to draw and present resonance to all 1330 Kurals.
