Karting – CRG Rotax 125 MAX @ GoPro Motorplex: Year Three Running.

GoPro Motorplex opened as Mooresville Motorplex back in 2012. Located about one mile from Roger Penske’s entire racing headquarters in Mooresville NC, this was North America’s premier karting track when opened. I was lucky to grab one of 40 garages available that first year and my karting operation has been based there ever since. The garages are home to many NASCAR and Indycar drivers and team members. Enzo and Pietro Fittipaldi, as well as a young Austin Cendric housed their karts there.

This video was shot back in 2015. This was back in the fall and features a stunning sunset over the surrounding farmland. The asphalt had weathered in slightly, but was still billiard table smooth back then. They had just broken ground on the Kartsport North America building, that would go on to become the US East coast distributor of IAME motors.

This video uses the software Dashware to make the overlays. I pulled GPS data (track position, speed and G-forces) from the Contour GPS camera mounted to my helmet. The rest of the information is from the steering wheel-mounted Mychron data acquisition system.

Equipment used:
– CRG Kalifornia (chassis 749)
– Rotax MAX 125 Senior
– AIM Mychron data logging
– Contour GPS

Programs
– Dashware
