The 2022 preseason edition of the Coaches Poll was released this past Wednesday. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and even TEXAS all had first-place votes. The AP Poll releases tomorrow, and one voter, Brett McMurphy, decided to release his ballot a few days early. McMurphy’s ballot comes with surprises and some sneaky good picks. He places Air Force and Nebraska inside his Top 25, but places Miami at #4 and excludes Michigan State from his Top 25 (just to give some examples of placements I agree and disagree with). Fortunately for us all, the preseason polls determine absolutely nothing and are primarily opinion based. Just look at the chaos that 2021 provided, a lot of the teams ranked in the 2021 preseason finished unranked at the end of the season.
