Cook in the backfield, Jefferson and Thielen on the outside, some really good players on defense. Za’darius Smith being added. This is a team that no one is talking about but I believe still has a chance to make some noise this year. As we always know, it comes down to the quarterback playing big in big moments. Playing at a consistent level. I’m a Kirk Cousins fan in terms of what he is capable of doing with the football. The throws that he is capable of making. But there are some deficiencies that he has got to get better with if they are ever going to make a run to a championship with some of the other great quarterbacks in the NFC. This week, we are going to take a look at the Vikings. Specifically, we are going to take a look at Kirk Cousins and what he does really well, what he has struggled with in the past and if we can bridge the gap with this new offense and head coach to allow the Vikings to push Green Bay in the division. Which is very possible losing pieces on their side with Davante Adams heading to Vegas. But more importantly, can the Vikings finally make a run to push some other teams in the NFC?
A lot to like about Kirk Cousins and his ability to get down the field and to make those big plays! It leaves you wondering what the problem is in terms of why they haven’t gotten over the hump. Everyone has seen the potential. Seen the throws and that’s why teams continue to fall in love with him. You see the throws that not a lot of guys can make. He makes them consistently. I love it! Play action, on the run, in the pocket: he is going to be really good. Getting the chunk or big plays off the run game as well. So what is he missing? Why does he need to do better? I’ll show you in the next tape of Studyball a little bit later in the week. But this is the kind of stuff you get Vikings fans excited for. When you have a new coach, based on what he does. And you have all the talent on the football team. Could they be a sleeper team this year when we are talking about other teams around? New Orleans, Dallas, among others as teams that may not win their division, but will be in the hunt for the playoffs; Minnesota could very easily be one of those teams that sneaks up on a lot of people because not a lot of people are talking about them right now. #kirkcousins #nfl #minnesotavikings
