Hop on the craziest Hot Wheels track we’ve built yet. Spanning 3 stories and running 290 feet (88 meters) in length, this monster of a layout took 9 days to build. Enjoy the point-of-view roller coaster round trip!
Special thanks to Jeff Carr and Gordon Oney for designing and 3D printing the two black 90-degree turns, and for helping me drill the plastic tops off several Zoom In cars. Thanks to Alyssa for designing bunny hills and the RMC-esque outer banked bump, and for her patience navigating the pieces strewn everywhere. Filmed with a RunCam 5 Orange at 120 fps. Most of the footage is played back at 50% speed, though the lift is 300% and the final four turns are 100%. The track was all laid out on filming day and worked in 10 sections; cuts have been used to make the experience continuous. The lift hill was powered by a drill which could be activated remotely. The string pulled a “catch car” behind the camera car, though it didn’t quite work around the bend uphill. Still working out the bugs.
