ABOUT DR. TUCKER:
Born in July 10, 1922, 100 year old neurologist, Dr. Howard Tucker, has been practicing medicine for over 75 years! He believes “retirement is the enemy of longevity” and continues to see patients and teach medical residents to this day.
Always keeping up with the latest advancements in neurology, Dr. Tucker truly enjoys what he does and has built his reputation on the care and service he provides his patients, as well as the countless medical mysteries he has solved over the years.
After graduating from The Ohio State Medical School and serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, Dr. Tucker spent his time between New York and Cleveland as a neurologist at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic, later serving as the Chief of Neurology at Hillcrest Hospital/Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Tucker would also serve as the Chief of Neurology for the Atlantic Fleet during the Korean War.
At age 67 in 1989, Dr. Tucker decided to purse another passion and received his law degree, all while still practicing as a neurologist. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Tucker also spends time consulting on various medical-legal cases.
Despite his age, Dr. Tucker continues to remain extremely physically active. He enjoys snowshoeing, biking, and walking for miles on his treadmill most days of the week. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 65 years (an 89 year old practicing psychiatrist), his four children, and ten grandchildren.
Dr. Tucker’s incredible life and career is being featured in the upcoming documentary, “What’s Next?” – directed and produced by Taylor Taglianetti and co-produced by his grandson, Austin Tucker.
