Police in Johor will ask local councils to blacklist business licence holders found running illegal gambling activities at their premises.
Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said a number of gambling syndicates used legitimate businesses as a front for their operations.
He said previously, police found premises which continued to operate despite having been raided several times.
He was speaking to the media after monitoring an operation to cut electricity supply to premises used by gambling syndicates carried out in collaboration with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
