Bates field hockey senior captain Emily Gianunzio took a year off from Bates in 2020 and joined the coaching staff of Saint Dominic Academy in Auburn. There she coached Anna Cote, a senior captain for the Saints. In 2021, Gianunzio returned to the Bates field hockey team and Cote matriculated to Bates and became a Bobcat. Gianunzio went from Anna’s coach, to her teammate. This is their story.
