This is a rematch of a game between these two teams back on January 27 when Florida State was laying 11 and half at home and cruised to a 81-59 victory in a game that was never really close and slipped under the total of 141 and a half. While I simply don’t like laying this kind of lumber on the road with Florida State tonight, I do some value here on the total as I see no reason why it has been boosted a couple points up from the first meeting.
Believe it or not, this is the highest total on a Miami game since their first game of the season, way back on November 29. During this horrible 8-game stretch where they have lost 7, the Hurricanes are only averaging 55.3 points per game. The last time these two teams played Miami shot just 37% from the floor and I don’t see that improving here tonight against a Florida State team that ranks in the top 30 in the country in opponent field goal percentage.
As for the Seminoles, they 51.6% from the floor in the first meeting and it still went under the total. Bottom line: I think we have a couple points of value in going under tonight so for our Florida State vs Miami picks, let’s call for a low-scoring game.
