That changed quite suddenly when Michigan swayed the services of the Sun Belt player of the year Devante’ Jones to transfer over to Ann Arbor.
The 6’1 200lb guard adds immediately star ability and experience to the point position, as well as a huge scoring threat and defensive boost. At over 19 PPG, he shot that at a clip of over 48% from within the arc and 37% outside of it. While it’s unlikely he can replicate that against the best the Big Ten has to offer, it’s some eyebrow-raising numbers at the very least. Add in 2.8 steals per game from 2020, the 3rd best in the country, and you have a player that can do a whole lot for you on both sides of the court.
