The college football game between Colorado State and Utah State had an absolutely wild ending as Colorado State lost on one of the worst clock management blunders of all time… Utah State kicked field goal with five minutes remaining to take a two score 26-17 lead over the Rams. The game appeared to be out of reach, but Colorado State quickly drove down the field and scored a TD to cut the Utah State lead to 26-24. They then forced Utah State to punt and got the ball back with 45 seconds remaining. Once again, they quickly moved the ball down the field and a big third down conversion put them inside the Utah State 30 yard line with 11 seconds left. As we all know, the clock stops on a first down in college football. However, apparently Colorado State forgot this was the case and rushed their field goal team out onto the field as if the clock was running down. They could have spiked the ball or even ran another play. Instead they rushed to kick the field goal and their kicker missed. As a result, Utah State held on for a 26-24 victory over the visiting Colorado State Rams.
