I’ll start by taking a look at the elevated welcome bonus on the Citi Premier, in which you are able to earn 80,000 Citi Thank You Points after spending $4,000 or more in the first 3 months of having the card. At the very minimum, if you were to just redeem those 80,000 points for cash-back, you’d get a welcome bonus value of $800. However, if you were to utilize the ability to transfer out these Citi points to their travel partners, and get a redemption value of at least 2 cents per point, then you could get a value of $1600 from this welcome bonus, which would be enough value to cancel out the $95 annual fee on this card for the first 16 YEARS.
After discussing the welcome bonus, I’ll discuss some other benefits of the Citi Premier, such as the super strong elevated multipliers, the ability use this card in a setup with some other Citi Credit Cards (Citi Custom Cash & Citi Double Cash) & some other perks such as the $100 Annual Hotel Savings Credit.
Finally, I’ll discuss some situations of credit card users who would especially benefit from the Citi Premier Card.
