BSN SAYS: Many in Brevard have placed high expectations on the Panthers this upcoming season. The reason is because of their athleticism and youth.

Heritage returns just about intact graduating just four seniors according to MaxPreps. Mark Ainsley coached teams will always be fast, physical and intelligent, on and off the field.

All eyes will be on sophomore QB Joseph Tenta as many are anxious to see his progress from last year. Tenta is a worker and will continue to become one of the best signal callers in the county over the next three seasons.

Athletes Tayshawn Benson and Nakari Mcintyre will stretch defenses and fields as both are extremely athletic. Benson torched the Satellite defense in the spring game and recorded three interceptions on defense while McIntyre burst though holes chewing up chunks of yards.

The offensive line is back together and another year older and the same can be said for the defensive line as well.

It’s always hard predicting young teams but Heritage has an outstanding coaching staff and you will see significant progress this season. Maybe not district champion progress but a return to the playoffs could most certainly be in the cards if Heritage stays healthy and continues to develop.

We will know a lot about this team after the kickoff classic and week one. With slight differences, Heritage, Melbourne and Palm Bay are all similar teams.

Heritage is still a young team but they are experienced for their age and could win a few extra games because of that reason. They will also still make mistakes as they continue to progress to what should be a 9 win or even undefeated team in the coming seasons.

To become an 8 or 9 win team after a one win season would be an incredible turnaround and way too much to ask. Keep your eyes on the kickoff classic and week 1 vs Palm Bay and you’ll have an excellent feel for this team.

We say a six win season would be a super turnaround for a program that is well on its way back to becoming a Brevard County power again.
