Pressure’s on for Sark and Ewers following yet another Longhorn recruiting haul
The University of Texas has continued to find it difficult to find success on the football field for more than a decade, despite big recruiting hauls like the one it experienced in the 2022 cycle, which netted the 2021 No.1-ranked high school recruit Quinn Ewers via the transfer portal from Ohio State.

Now things get real for Ewers and Sarkisian. Despite never starting a game or even attempting a pass in college, the expectations for him to have a highly-successful freshman campaign in Austin just reached pressure-cooker status.
With Manning entering the fray in 2023, Ewers can ill-afford even mediocrity in a freshman season that will feature his likely second-ever start coming at home against Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide and Heisman-winning quarterback Bryce Young.
