There’s always a place for a high-floor, dependable wide receiver on a roster. The Michigan Wolverines watched the film of Andrel Anthony, and must have thought the same for the East Lansing native. Despite some strong pushes from the Michigan State Spartans from his backyard, as well as Penn State, Anthony decided to take his talents east to Ann Arbor.
As I said, he may not jump off the screen with his athleticism. He’s likely a 4.6ish guy at this point, and maybe won’t have the highest vertical or shuttle times. But, he has an ability to make a play. His route running is ahead of most at his point in his career, he’s crafty in his ability to get separation, and he can make some moves after the catch to get the extra yards.
Though he may not have NFL teams calling right away, he has a great skillset for a high floor prospect. With a room slightly less full with Xavier Worthy & Giles Jackson transferring, there should be more opportunity for Anthony to break through.
