Alabama may have completed the best single season in College Football history. In the middle of a Covid year, Alabama went a perfect 13-0 with an all SEC schedule to win yet another National Title. Despite tons of losses on offense, the Crimson Tide are once again a heavy National Title favorite in 2021. Yes, Alabama loses star QB Mac Jones, RB Najee Harris, and WRs Jaylen Waddle and Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith. But the Crimson Tide is loaded with young talent that was just waiting in the wings. QB Bryce Young is now in command of the offense. His dual threat ability will make Alabama’s offense even more difficult to stop. RB Brian Robinson rushed for 483 yards behind Najee Harris, and WR John Metchie III quietly posted 916 yards and six TDs in 2020. The defense, though, will be the true strength for Nick Saban and the Tide. Alabama returns eight starters on defense and are loaded on all three levels. DJ Dale will lead the defensive line, Christian Harris (79 tackles in 2020) will lead the LB core alongside Will Anderson, and Malachi Moore and Jordan Battle will lead what should be one of the best secondaries in the SEC. The Crimson Tide once again have a very favorable schedule with their biggest game coming on the road at Texas A&M in October. If the Tide escape College Station with a win, another undefeated season seems imminent. Meaning another College Football Playoff and a shot at Nick Saban’s eighth National Title will be well within reach.
