NEW YORK, New York (WBSN) — Fresh off securing Olympic gold at the 2024 Paris Games, U.S. Women’s National Team star defender Tierna Davidson marked her homecoming in a unique way—by serving up Chicken Finger meals at a Raising Cane’s restaurant in New York City.

Davidson, who played a pivotal role in the United States’ 1-0 victory over Brazil in the Olympic final, made an appearance at Raising Cane’s in Astor Place on Thursday, where she traded her cleats for an apron and worked the front counter, much to the delight of soccer fans chanting “U-S-A! U-S-A!”

The 25-year-old defender, who had previously been sidelined with a knee injury during the early rounds of the tournament, returned to the field for the gold medal match, helping her team clinch their fifth Olympic title. The victory was celebrated by a crowd that included celebrities like Tom Cruise and U.S. soccer legend Megan Rapinoe, as the stadium erupted with cheers when the U.S. scored the decisive goal in the 57th minute.

At the event, Davidson donned a red, white, and blue Cane’s jersey emblazoned with the number 12 and showcased her competitive spirit off the field by mastering the art of assembling Raising Cane’s signature Box Combos.

“I’ve been looking forward to this all day—I love Chicken Fingers. It means everything to be here right now as a two-time Olympian,” said Davidson. “Representing Team USA is an incredible feeling, and it’s something special to compete as a country while also meeting and celebrating athletes from different cultures.”

Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves expressed his pride in Davidson and the U.S. women’s soccer team, highlighting the challenges they faced in Paris. “It was great having Tierna out here today to greet fans and celebrate her second Olympic medal,” Graves said. “I cheered Team USA on throughout the games and will be rooting for Tierna and her USWNT teammates as they return to their respective pro teams.”

Raising Cane’s, one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the U.S., is known for its Chicken Finger meals and iconic Cane’s Sauce. The company currently operates over 800 restaurants in more than 40 states and plans to open 100 new locations in 2024.
